Did you know heavy weight lifting can help those who are sleep deprived?
The well-being of a person depends mainly on the quality of his or her rest. Sleep is one way to relax. When you do not take enough sleep, it can have a detrimental effect on your daily life.
This is good news for those
who are affected by sleep deprivation because studies have shown that exercise
is one of the keys to getting a good night's sleep.
This unconfirmed study by
experts at Lowa State University, aimed at identifying the link between
exercise, sleep, and human heart health.
This study found that sleep
deprivation during sleep time is associated with a variety of diseases such as
heart disease, brain disease, and more.
According to Angelique
Brellenthin, one of the researchers, exercise was found to help people go to
sleep at night or at bedtime, reducing the risk of some heart or brain
diseases.
The study was conducted on
386 people who are overweight or obese and had high blood pressure.
They were trained to take care
of their bodies, and they were grouped into different groups. They were
monitored for one hour, three times a week for a year.
The study, conducted at the
beginning and end of the study, focused on sleep duration, sleep time compared
to sleep delay, and everything else related to sleep.
The study found that 35% of
participants had difficulty in sleeping and 42% did not sleep at least seven
hours a night.
After the training, members
of the weight-lifting group of researchers found that at least 40 minutes were
added to their normal sleep per night.
"Although exercise is
both important for overall health, our results suggest that weight lifting may
be better during sleep, especially at night," Brellenthin said.
Exercise is said to be the
most effective way to prevent sleep deprivation and to help you get a good
night's sleep.
