From Zero To TikTok Sensation: The Story Behind The Success Of Khaby Lame

By 2020, TikTok had won the hearts of many social media users, as Covid-19 made people in their homes think about how to have more fun using TikTok and more.

The comedian's new life journey began when he and his family (his biological parents) left Senegal to the European continent in Italy to seek for a good life.

 

As they arrived things where not as expected because life was getting harder but lucky enough after Lame grew up he got a job as a waiter in a restaurant with a payment of $ 1,000 a month, which is not a lot of money compared to the living in those countries.

 

At the time of the Covid-19 attack, the young man was unemployed because he had been fired for some time. Probably a factor as to why workers were being reduced in many work places.

 

The idea of ​​making fun of people on social media Lame didn't think it was going to change his life.

 

It was on March 15, 2020 that Lame decided to start using TikTok to make people laugh, while in Italy they were in so known ‘stay home’.

 

In his own unique way, he points out how difficult it is for people to solve some of the problems they face proving that there are other easy ways to solve them.

 

With his first video posted on TikTok, only two people watched it. And those were his parent and neighbor, and within the first month of uploading his videos were only viewed by nine people, only two of them followed him.

 

He did not give up because as the days went by he became more and more famous because of his videos that were going viral and he began to enjoy it. His videos began to be shared on various social media sites and different people started imitating him by showing people how to do things as Lame does it.


His followers continued to grow until he was paid for the humorous work, which was a dream come true.

 

What he confessed by saying "Here in Italy i started making money and help my family and friends, which is very exciting and makes me proud."

 

The 22-year-old Lame has now more than 140 million followers over a two-year period, making him the world's second most followed TikToker after American dancer Charli D'Amelio.

 

This prompted him to sign contracts with major companies including the German model Hugo Boss, which sells clothing, accessories, shoes and perfumes.

 

He has worked with many companies in the advertising industry since he was already well known internationally.

 

The young man has also been invited to major concerts, meeting with dignitaries including artists and celebrities in football. The way he laughs is also used by other celebrities in many ways.
